Jim,

Sorry that I didn't see this before now, but I was involved in moving
from one house to another.

>I think the Wisconsin McIDAS feed may be down once again. It's now
>nearly 20/0000Z and the last GOES-W area files came in around ~19/2217Z
>and no GOES-E since ~19/2145Z.

OK. I just pointed to adde.ucar.edu and ran the same IMGLIST command
that I noted earlier from a McIDAS-X session. The end of the list showed:

IMGLIST RTIMAGES/GE-IR.ALL
 ...
 329 G-8 IMG 19 AUG 01231 17:15:00 23 71 4
 330 G-8 IMG 19 AUG 01231 18:15:00 23 71 4
 331 G-8 IMG 19 AUG 01231 19:15:00 23 71 4
 332 G-8 IMG 19 AUG 01231 20:15:00 23 71 4
 333 G-8 IMG 19 AUG 01231 21:15:00 23 71 4
 334 G-8 IMG 20 AUG 01232 00:15:00 23 71 4
 335 G-8 IMG 20 AUG 01232 01:15:00 23 71 4
 336 G-8 IMG 20 AUG 01232 02:15:00 23 71 4
 337 G-8 IMG 20 AUG 01232 03:15:00 23 71 4

This shows that the 22 and 23 Z images did not come in, but the 0-3 Z
ones did (it is 3:58 Z as I write this). SSEC folks will undoubtedly
look into this when then get into work on Monday. I just checked the
reception of NOAAPORT GOES-East GINI imagery, and I see that there was
a full set images for the 22 and 23 Z times, so the problem must be in
the SSEC downlink.

>Tropical Storm Chantal is still just a little too far south to use the
>NOAAPORT 1-KM or 4-KM data, so I still depend quite a bit on the McIDAS
>feed.

I will make sure that SSEC is aware of the problem. Sorry for the problems...

Tom
