20000724: NOTICE: motherlode IP change on Tuesday, July 25 at 1400 MDT

>From: Unidata Support <address@hidden>
>Organization: UCAR/Unidata
>Keywords: 200007111943.e6BJhFT03738 IDD motherlode adde.ucar.edu

Hi guys,

As promised, this is your notification of the IP change for the UCAR
machine you are using for data:

motherlode.ucar.edu
adde.ucar.edu (alias)
zuul.ucar.edu (alias)

'motherlode' will be rebooted at 1400 MDT (20 Z) Tuesday, July 25,
2000. At this time its IP address will change. The new address will
be 128.117.13.119.

Because the DNS is a caching system, it may take a while for the new
address to propogate around the net.

For IDD feed:

When the change is made it might be a good idea to switch to requesting
data from the machine's new IP address (128.117.13.119). The other
alternative (given that there is always a possibility that something
may happen that would prevent the system from being immediately
available) would be to return temporarily to feeding from thelma.

For ADDE service:

When the DNS name servers have been updated, all that will be needed
  is a reissuance of:

  DATALOC ADD RTGINI adde.ucar.edu

Before the name servers have been updated, one would have to specify
the ADDE DATALOC using the machine's IP address.
