In which type of files (GEMPAK, McIDAS, netCDF) are you getting duplicate
reports? Usually, the decoders filter out duplicate reports.

There is no guarantee that all the observations in the SAUS31 reports
are also in an SAUS80 report. There are many cases where the major
airports are in the "regional" collectives as well as the "national"
collectives, but the smaller observing sites are not.

Let us know which decoders are giving you problems and we can
work further on this problem.

Don,

Thanks for your offer of help, but it appears to be only our problem.
I just checked (via sfl604 and wxp) and the GEMPAK and netCDF decoded
files are fine and we don't do anything with the McIDAS files. Our
near-duplicates appear to be confined to our internal non-Unidata
decoder.

Thanks for the info about the SAUS31 - SAUS80 headers, though -- that
tells us what we need to know.
