OPeNDAP/DODS and Unidata
Unidata's involvement in the OPeNDAP/DODS project lies mainly in
user support, developer support, and release engineering. As a
project that focuses on protocols and software for accessing
distributed data, OPeNDAP/DODS project fits into endeavor 5
("Distributed, organized collections of digital material") and
endeavor 6 ("Improved data access infrastructure") of the
Unidata 2008 proposal.
Unidata's support role to the OPeNDAP/DODS community falls into
Unidata 2008 endeavor 2 (Comprehensive Support Services, [Data
services, systems, and tools]"). Endeavor 1 ("Responding to a
broader and more diverse community" ) is also relavent due to
the OPeNDAP/DODS communities extent beyond Unidata's traditional
community.

Usage Statistics for Unidata's OPeNDAP/DODS Support
- The 2007 OPeNDAP Developer's Workshop. The Workshop was held on February 21st, 22nd and 23rd in Boulder CO. See the wiki page for the agenda and abstracts, which has links to all of the presentations .
- Two beta releases of Hyrax (aka Server4), with bug-fix, improved the documentation and tested, better documented configuration of Hyrax with Apache, and THREDDS catalog support.
- Releasese of C++ DAP library libdap version 3.7.3, 3.7.4 and 3.7.5. These releases of libdap includes new features and some implementation changes, and is required for the beta release of Hyrax.
- Releasese of OPeNDAP Data Connector (ODC) version 2.59.1, 2.60 and 2.63.
- Release of OPeNDAP IDL Client, it is an an IDL tool which provides access to OPeNDAP data in IDL. The IDL client now uses the OPeNDAP C API(v-1.33) in place of the OPeNDAP CPP API.
- Release of OPeNDAP C API (OCAPI) 1.33, it is an OPeNDAP DAP 2.0 client implementation written in generic C, and it includes some major enhancements.
