Metadata Resources
Summaries of the Dublin Core
workshops show evolution of metadata issues since 1995, in attempting to
develop consensus on a core set of interdisciplinary metadata elements
for networked resources:
- Metadata:
the Foundations for Resource Description
, March 1995, Dublin, Ohio
-
The Warwick Metadata Workshop: A Framework for the Deployment
of Resource Description, April 1996, Warwick University, UK
-
Image Description on the Internet: A Summary of the CNI/OCLC
Image Metadata Workshop, September 1996, Dublin, Ohio
-
The 4th Dublin Core Metadata Workshop Report, March 1997,
Canberra, Australia
-
DC-5: The Helsinki Metadata Workshop, October 1997,
Helsinki, Finland
One outgrowth of the Dublic Core Workshops and other metadata efforts is
the W3C Metadata work on
defining a Resource Description Framework (RDF) for metadata
representation.
