Data Access and Distribution
12-14 sites are currently receiving NOGAPS data from the Fleet Numerical
Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) via LDM technology
Currently working toward availability of the Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere
Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) model, directly from
FNMOC using LDM
Coordinated with the NWS and Unidata technical staff on NIDS-type (Level
III) data access
Difax-type products data distribution announcement-coordination among Users
Committee, Unidata technical staff and University of Wisconsin - (see Jeff
Weber's report)
Some Difax products will continue to be available via the Web after
April 30, 2001 from NCEP
ACARS Information Forum
is now a public forum for users to exchange information on the use of
ACARS data
The Canadian Meteorological Centre is once again interested in use of the
LDM to provide the Global Environmental Multiscale (GEM) to
interested community members. They will be upgrading the LDM and provide a
short announcement of availability.
Upgrading of CONDUIT is beginning
to move ahead.. The NWS Office of Operational Systems (OOS) is waiting for
delivery of a server that will connect to the Internet2/Abilene.
Case Studies and DODS
The case study project, funded by NOAA's NWS, remains funded for 2001 and
is currently in the budget for 2002.
The DODS project is also funded for 2001 and looks good through April 3,
2002.
