This is where we document some reported problems with the current release (netCDF version 3.3) and their workarounds.
If a variable has more than 1000 values in its last dimension, ncdump will incorrectly output a semicolon (`;') instead of a comma (`,') separator after one of the values. A patch to ncdump/vardata.c is available that fixes the problem.
This has been fixed in version 3.3.1. Thanks to Alain Coat for reporting the problem.
If a netCDF file has a character variable with a "_FillValue" attribute, ncdump will report the following error when given the file as input:
ncdump: Attempt to convert between text & numbers
A patch to ncdump/ncdump.c is available that fixes the problem.
This has been fixed in version 3.3.1. Thanks to Robb Kambic for reporting the problem.
