Satellite Imagery

McIDAS sites can receive real-time weather satellite data that you can easily access and analyze using McIDAS-X. This lesson describes how to: The following commands are used in this lesson.

Command Function

CUR defines cursor size, type and color
D lists the image data at the cursor center
E lists the earth coordinates at the cursor center
FRMLABEL displays an image label on a frame
FRMLIST lists a frame directory
IMGCOPY copies images
IMGDEL deletes images
IMGDISP displays an image on a frame
IMGLIST lists image directories
IMGOPER applies mathematical functions to image data
IMGPROBE lists or plots image data for a region of the displayed image
IMGREMAP remaps images into different projections
MAP displays a map and latitude/longitude lines on a graphics frame
PC positions the cursor at a desired point on the frame
SYNC synchronizes loops running in multiple briefing windows
