Commands by Categories

The command categories below are ordered from the basic to the complex. Basic commands are those that every user needs to know to run McIDAS (system utilities, frame and cursor control). Next are the Graphics and frame analysis commands, which are general applications. The Weather Analysis category contains those commands that list or display weather data. This category is followed by commands that are specific to each data type (image, point, grid and text). The Navigation category contains commands that are used to display dataset navigation data. The last categories are the optional tools and administrative utilities that are infrequently used, followed by commands that define or use ADDE datasets.
