This list of routines below represents modules modified by the UPC for McIDAS-X, -XCD.

Please refer to the installation and configuration instructions at the end of this page for details on how to upgrade your system with this addendum.

m0rtgfil.c, m0gadde.inc, RTMODELS.CFG	Fixed logic that compares model forecast times to ones requested by users for GRID datasets.
goescomp.pgm, GEWCOMP2.MCB, GE-IR.BAT	Updated to eliminate gap in composites of UNIWISC GOES-East/West products at the southern margin.
CHANGES.2009 VERSION.TXT	CHANGES.2009 was updated to incorporate SSEC v2010.2 modifications and all Unidata bugfixes/enhancements up to this date. VERSION.TXT was updated to v2009 to reflect the new bugfix addendum.

 

Building and Installing the Updated McIDAS-X Code

The McIDAS administrator (typically the user mcidas) should perform the following steps in the order listed to update his/her system with addendum modifications/additions:

• login as the user mcidas

• EXIT all active McIDAS-X sessions

• Download the addendum
  • Web download

    If you are a Registered Unidata User, and have logged into the Unidata web portal, you can download by holding down the Shift key and clicking mouse button 1 on: mcupdate.tar.gz. Make sure to download it to the ~mcidas/mcidas2009/update directory!

  • FTP download

    Type: cd ~mcidas/mcidas2009/update
    Type: ftp ftp.unidata.ucar.edu
          <user>
          <pass>
          cd unix/2009/bugfix
          binary
          get mcupdate
          get mcupdate.tar.gz
          get mcupdate.list.2009h
          quit
    
    

• Unpack the addendum

  Type: chmod +x mcupdate
  Type: ./mcupdate
  

• (Re)make and install McIDAS-X

  Type: cd ~mcidas/mcidas2009/src
  Type: make mcx
  Type: make install.mcx
  

• (Re)make and install McIDAS-XRD (optional)

  Type: cd ~mcidas/mcidas2009/src
  Type: make xrd
  Type: make install.xrd
  

• Remake and install McIDAS-XCD (if you run XCD)

  Type: cd ~mcidas/mcidas2009/src
  Type: make xcd
  Type: make install.xcd
  

This completes the update process instructions.
