Removing the Previous Version of McIDAS-X for XP

After McIDAS-X for XP 2005 is installed, tested, and working properly, remove the previous version of McIDAS-X for XP. Run each command from the ~mcidas directory.

1. Log on to the workstation as mcidas and start an SFU Korn Shell.

2. Remove the mcidasversion# directory tree and its contents, replacing version# with the previous version number.

Type: sh ./mcidasversion#.sh unmake

The message below is displayed when the unmake is successfully completed.

./mcidasversion#.sh: Unmake completed normally.

3. Remove the following files:
