The installation directory is defined as the Environmental Variable NAWIPS. Each user on a system that will be using GEMPAK should source the $NAWIPS/Gemenviron file prior to running GEMPAK.
The operating system will be set using the variable NA_OS. Because the platform dependent binaries and libraries are installed in directories using the $NA_OS value, GEMPAK can be install under the same tree structure for multiple platforms.
The GEMPAK tree resides under the $NAWIPS directory. Files residing beneath the source tree are used in the building and installation process. Other directories are used by the runtime applications.
