To use NWX, you need to set up your LDM to file certain products into a directory structure recognized by the program. Sample pqact.conf entries for LDM are provided in the GEMPAK distribution under the $NAWIPS/ldm/etc directory using a set of templates which will automatically create pqact.conf lines based on your $GEMTBL and $GEMPAK environmental variable settings. See the Decoder/Data Entries for LDM pqact.conf configuration pages for details on configuring the pattern action files.
Next, you need the environmental variable $TEXT_DATA defined to the top of the NWX data tree. This variable should be defined in your site wide Gemenviron file. The top of the NWX data tree for the pqact.conf entries shown above is the directory found by the LDM as data/gempak/nwx.
Once you have the data directories populated with data, you are ready to start exploring the interface.
