9.0.3 NMAP MAP

NMAP MAP Selection

NMAP provides an interactive tool for selecting what maps will be used with the displayed product. Map overlays map be turned on/off using the radio buttons along the right side of the popup window. By selecting the button containing the map name, a tool window appears which can be used to customise the line type and color attributes for that map type.

The map projection can be selected using one of the predefined regions at the left, or by chosing the "Custom" option. The GAREA and PROJ definitions follow the same format as is used with the standard GEMPAK command line programs.

The selected map attributes can be previewed using the icon.

If you have an image loaded in the display window (Radar or Satellite), it may be useful to display the image in the map selection window. You can toggle that on with the "Show Image" button at the top of the map dialog window.

When you have finished customizing the map display, you can "Accept" the changes (they will take effect the next time you load data), or go ahead and "Load" your data now using the defined attributes.
