9.0.0 NMAP Data Selection
The NMAP2 data selection window can be brought up by clicking the data icon button at the top of the display panel, by clicking the "Data Source" option from the "File" menu pulldown, or by using the right mouse button within the data display window.

Selecting Data

Choose the type of data you want to display from the "New Source" option. The data source options look like:

Nmap Data Source

By selecting a data type, additional options are provided for the data source and parameter display.

Nmap Data Source1

Click the "Accept" button, and the data dialog will update with the times available and default frames selected for plotting as shown below. After the desired time range and interval is selected, use "Load" to display the selected data products.

Defining Display Characteristics

The Dominant Source is the data field which defines the times used in the displayed data, and defaults to the first data set selected. Additional data fields may be added to the product display. The dominant field defines the time step between each loop frame, and the times for which the frames are presented. Since different data sets are available at differing intervals and time resolutions, the dominant data source provides the mechanism for time matching for other displayed fields. Use the dominant source selection to define which data set will be the dominant source:

tip:
  • When an image is the dominant frame, you may choose to have the display automatically update as new data arrives.
  • Select the "New Source" button for each data set you wish to display.
  • Use the "Clear Source" button to reset all data selections.
  • To change a selected data source, first select the desired field from the "Data Source" selector, then choose "Modify Data Source". The data selction window will reappear and the desired data set may be chosen.
  • The "Edit Source" button allows the user to define the plotted parameters for each data source as shown below.

    Data set time selection

The number of frames currently selected for looping is shown in the "Total Frames" block. You can increase or decrease the number of frames selected by using the slider immediately to the right. Or, drag the end of the time selection box to increase or decrease the time range:

    Nmap Data nframes

You can also shift the frame range by clicking and holding the left mouse button down as the mouse pointer is over the time slection box:

    Nmap Data nframes2

You can skip loop frames at fixed intervals using the "Skip Factor" object. Alternatively, you can skip random frames by clicking the displayed time within the time bar:

    Nmap Data nframes3

By default, the data selection window uses the current system time to display available data sets, and the predefined $GEMTBL/config/datatype.tbl time range and interval for the specified dominant source. The time window can be configured through the "Range/Int" (Range and Interval) tool window to specify the date, time range and displayed interval of the data source.
