DC program Exercises

1. Decode the 10-12Z surface data into GEMPAK format data files using an hourly file name template.

2. Convert this ETA model run from grib to GEMPAK format.

3. Import this research dataset into a sounding format file.
   
   • What should TIMSTN be set to?

4. Plot Soundings for each of the profiles in the ASTEX file above.
   • Try setting filter to NO initially.
   • Now try setting filter to YES.
     • Why does the filter work on some soundings and not others?
   • What about stability indicies?
