CADIS
Project Description
The Cooperative Arctic Data and Information Service (CADIS) is a portal for Arctic Observing Network (AON) project data discovery. AON projects can upload data to CADIS for secure archiving, and CADIS makes those data immediately available through this site. CADIS is growing to provide access to other data that AON investigators will find useful, and to provide the means to visualize data with tools like Unidata's Integrated Data Viewer (IDV).
AON is an NSF initiative for the International Polar Year (IPY) to improve observational capabilities in the Arctic and leave a long-term legacy for the benefit of science and society. AON data will contribute to scientific research leading to:
- increased knowledge and understanding of the regional and global causes and consequences of present-day environmental Arctic Change,
- scenarios for and prediction of the course of future Arctic Change and its regional and global consequences, and
- the development of adaptive responses to Arctic Change.
