Draft Summary of RSI Boulder GALEON Testing

Below is a summary of the testing i have completed using the generic RSI IDLOgcWcs Object against some of the servers listed in the Galeon web site (this the second client, the first by Norman Barker of RSI UK).

This testing is checking for the ability of to communicate with a server using the ogc wcs protocol. It does not check the quality of the data returned by the server to any degree other than opening the file. Only the servers that listed a url in the GALEON wiki were tested so far.

• GetCapabilites - ok - request with 1 coverage
• DescribeCoverage - ok
• GetCoverage (coverage name=tos)
• returns a geo-tiff note: server does not pay attention to height/width...the geo-tiff is always the same size
• returns a netcdf note: netcdf can be opened in IDL

• GetCapabilites - ok - request with 5 coverages
• DescribeCoverage - ok
• GetCoverage (coverage name=u_sfc)
• returns an error when trying to get a geo-tiff of the u_sfc (err='must be evenly spaced grid')
• returns a netcdf note: netcdf can be opened in IDL

• GetCapabilites - ok - request with 1 coverage
• DescribeCoverage - ok
• GetCoverage (coverage name=ta)
• returns a geo-tiff note: server does not pay attention to height/width...the geo-tiff is always the same size
• returns a netcdf note: netcdf can be opened in IDL

• returns a ncML-GML fails err=internal server error
