IDV generated image of sea-level pressure (contours), a rainwater isosurface (yellow), and a potential temperature isosurface (blue shading) for an idealized hurricane simulation.  The elevated rainwater column near the storm center is a reflection of both a very strong updraft lofting rain, and a heightened freezing level in this warm-core storm.  The warm core also produces the downward protrusion of the potential-temperature surface over the storm center.
