Dear Member of the Unidata Community:

Has the Unidata program been a successful investment? How has it been successful and why? Has it been transformational in the way you conduct your teaching and/or research? These are important questions to which the Unidata Program Center (UPC) is seeking answers. NSF is interested in these answers as well. In an effort to evaluate the Unidata program, the UPC has hired Dr. Sarah Nelson, president of an independent consulting firm experienced in program evaluation to conduct an evaluation of the Unidata program. This evaluation will be of value to the UPC in planning its future directions and improving its allocation of resources to better serve the community. NSF welcomes this UPC initiated effort and looks forward to the results. The NSF and the UPC would value your participation in the study and hope that amongst the myriad activities that more than fill your day; you will be able to find time to become a study participant.
