Sorry, I spoke too soon in my last response. Your Exception
does suggest another crack at a quick fix, in:

  ftp://ftp.ssec.wisc.edu/pub/visad-2.0/untested/VisADGeometryArray.java

with updated visad.jar and visad_src-2.0.jar files again at
ftp://ftp.ssec.wisc.edu/pub/visad-2.0/untested/.
