I just tried it on Sparc Solaris and did not get this problem,
so its not a problem with the files.

You need to do a binary transfer (if you are downloading
using ftp), and your 'jar' command must be at least JDK 1.2.

Perhaps someone else has seen these messages and know their
cause.
