announcing JMET, Java2D clipping

The VisAD distribution now includes the initial version of
Tom Whittaker's JMET interactive meteorology system. This
great start will evolve into a full functionality meteorology
system. Check out the JMET web page at:

  http://allegro.ssec.wisc.edu/jmet/

You can now do clipping in Java2D displays, by calling
the DisplayRendererJ2D.setClip() method.  See
visad/examples/Test34.java for a nice example - this test
shows the same data objects in two Java2D displays, the
left one with clipping and the right one without clipping.
It appears that this style of clipping is not yet supported
in Java3D.

Finally, check out the beautiful movie of erosion and
deposition at:

Cheers,
Bill
