Parametric Curves rendered as points

I have a simple parametric curve (helix) which is being rendered as
a sequence of points rather than a collection of line seqments that
I desire.

The parametricCurve function type is (domainT->(rangeX,rangeY,rangeZ))
I tried  display.getGraphicsModeControl().setPointMode(false) but it
seems to have no effect.

The sample is based on GoesCollaboration so much of the code is
server/client code.
