Java 3D Alpha-3

I had success with VisAD and Java 3D Alpha-{1,2}, however, Java 3D
Alpha-3 fails.  In one case I get SIGSEGV   11*  segmentation
violation.  In another the colors of the surface is way bizarre.  I
recognize that VisAD is stated to be compatible with Alpha-1.  However,
I wanted to bring it your attention in case someone else has had
success with Alpha-3.  Perhaps it's a local problem.
