Re: [thredds] NCML in aggregations

Hi DaveL

correct. there are some options for choosing the "prototype file", esp for FMRC aggregations in a TDS:

After a little more searching, found the documentation reference:

Looks like global attributes from a Union of NetCDF files would come from the first file.

'All the other variables, dimensions, and attributes are taken from the first file that declares them.'

Hi All,

I'm trying to better understand how NCML attributes are populated in an aggregated dataset. For example, is the first netdcdf file used as the 'template' from which global attributes are populated (alternatively perhaps some random sample is used)?

This is in the context of generating NCML from an aggregated THREDDs dataset.

Thanks, Dave
