[thredds] timeCoverage metadata

Hi,

We are attempting to build some TDS configuration catalogs that will have complete metadata descriptions of the underlying data.  This will allows us to parse the catalog and configure software without having to open the actual netCDF data source until we actually need the data.

One sticking point is in the timeCoverage metadata block.  There is no standard place to put a calendar type.  For our purposes it would be enough to define a place to stick one of the CF strings (gregorian, proleptic_gregorian, noleap, all_leap, 360_day, julian) into the timeCoverage element.

Have the Unidata folks given some thought to this need?  Is there a standard solution in the TDS context?  Do other folks have a solution?
