I think the problem "Inconsistent array length read: 2180175 != 1146316146" is related to the recheckEvery problem. basically theres a bug somewhere when the netcdf (or grib) file continues to grow after its been read/cached in the TDS. 

To check if this is true, can you clear the caches (from the TDS debug screen, or restart the TDS if you dont have remote debugging working), and then try the read access again.  thanks
