Hi Tim,

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner about the note below. I
won't bother you with my list of excuses.

_From your note, I'm not sure exactly where to start, but I assume you have
already seen our web pages on THREDDS

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/THREDDS/

and our LDM/IDD real-time, event-driven, push-type Internet Data
Distribution system

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/
and
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/

We also offer a suite of analysis and display tools for working with the
data

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/

And I personally am involved in a substantial effort to establish
standards-based (mainly OGC and ISO) interfaces to our data systems:

You might also want to take a look at a couple of our real-time THREDDS data
server sites:

http://motherlode.ucar.edu:8080/thredds/catalog.html
http://lead4.unidata.ucar.edu:8080/thredds/catalog.html

In the context of NSF proposal, I don't know whether any or all of these
might be important or useful, but I'd be happy to discuss them further with
you via email or phone.

New Ticket: realtime THREDDS data visualization?

Hi,

I'm a biologist at the University of Utah. We are applying for an NSF
grant to develop an open-standard set of web-based tools to provide
users with the ability to dynamically visualize and explore climate
and other datasets online in realtime. We are interested in better
understanding how the THREDDS and related UNIDATA projects serve data
so we don't reproduce your work. We'd also like to see if what we
develop can be used to enhance the usability of the THREDDS and
similar projects. Can you forward this email to the best person for us
to discuss this with? We'd appreciate if we could speak with someone
soon as we are currently working on the grant.

Thanks,

Tim
