20061006: NCEP update

SUBJECT:        Changes to the NWS Production Suite



1.  The moratorium on changes to the NCEP Production Suite will continue 
until the new Central Computer System (CCS) becomes operational in 
January 2007.  General users were allowed access to Mist on Wednesday, 
27 September.
2.  During the final electrical work in the Fairmont facility the week 
of 8 October, NCEP Computer Operations will be switched to Blue in 
Gaithersburg.  White will be powered down the entire week.  Operations 
are expected to return to Fairmont on Saturday, 14 October.  A limited 
number of development users will have access to Blue during switch.
3.  Upcoming changes to NCEP's production suite can be viewed at the 
following website:
http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/changes/
This WEB site contains details on any product or timing changes that are 
associated with upcoming implementations.
