[netcdfgroup] Compiling issues on RHEL5 with Lahey Fortran 95 6.2d (32-bit)

Has anyone compiled netcdf (either 3.6.2 or the new 4.0-beta2) on RHEL5 
using lahey fortran (v.6.20d)?
We are having issues with (we think) the lahey compiler, but it may be 
something else. The errors are related to the location of the gcc-lib 
folder.
If you've had success with this set up, please let me know
