[netcdfgroup] Netcdf older version libraries

You need to make certain that you compile the program with the same  
flags used to compile the library.  In this case, at minimum I would  
guess you need to set whatever flag folds subroutine and function  
names to lower case.

It would help if you could supply the following:

1.  What computer/operating system you are using.

2.  If you are using a supplied binary of the library, which one, or  
if you built it yourself, what compilers were used.

3.  The compiler you are using and the command used for the compiler,  
because yo may not be linking in the proper libraries.
