[netcdf-porting] Netcdf build question

Hello: I'm trying to build netcdf 3.6.2 for another researcher. She has
requested that this be built with "i4" rather than with "i8", which she
claims is the default. Does anyone else out in netcdfland have any guidance
on how to build it with "i4"? Your help is greatly appreciated.
