support for NCML in NetCDF4?

NetCDF-Java:

Will NCML be integrated with the NetCDF4 API, or is it likely that it 
will remain a bit separate from the core NetCDF4 release?

We are thinking of developing conventions for our modeling system based 
on NCML, but are wondering whether that would limit us to the Java 
interface.
