Hello,

I want to convert synoptic, metar, upperair data to
netCDF format which I will ingest to "Local Analysis
and Prediction System" but the 'cdl' files of LAPS
are diferent from 'cdl' files of UNIDATA converters.
I'm not very well known in the netCDF format and can
you give me some start idea how to change the UNIDATA
converters to LAPS format?

Angel,

There's 2 approaches:

One, modify the record write command in the perl decoders to match the
LAPS netcdf cdl. Basically it would require moving the variable names
around in the netCDF record. For the upperair decoder this might be
difficult.

Second, write a c-netcdf program that take the netCDF file and creates
another one with only the variable that you want. Probably the easier of
the 2 approaches. You will need to investigate the netCDF library of
commands that are quite extensive.

Your attached cdl files were unreadable by my mailer so I could not make
detail comments.

Robb...

Here are attached some examples of 'cdl' files of LAPS
system....

Can you help me?
