I teach our met majors how to use the Unidata software in our Computer Applications course. I illustrate concepts in atmospheric dynamics with real time data displays. I especially show vertical cross sections of upper air and model data of temperature advection, vorticity advection, temperature deviation from the US standard atmosphere. I also show animation of the jetstream with other fields (e.g. sfc pressure and 850 mb temperature)over layed.
