For citing examples of surface and upper-air features for undergraduate Climatology, specifically synoptic climatology. For example, recent jet stream patterns associated with January cold weather outbreaks along the US east coast. RESEARCH: Use of Unidata archived satellite images, surface and upper air data for analysis of the environmental conditions associated with the 1998 Florida Wildfires. Use of archived satellite images for study of flash floods in the Caribbean during dry season (winter cold fronts) and wet season (hurricane) events.
