2018 Unidata Software Training Workshop

October 15 – 30, 2018

The Unidata Program Center's 2018 Software Training Workshop will be held October 15 – 30, 2018. The workshop will feature the display and analysis packages MetPy, IDV, and AWIPS; data access and management tools the Local Data Manager (LDM) and the THREDDS Data Server (TDS); and a session on the network Common Data Form (netCDF).

Unidata's training workshops are developed and presented by the software developers and support staff for each package, so you can be sure to get your questions answered.

The workshop will be held at the Unidata Program Center in UCAR's Foothills Lab 4, Room #1201 at 3300 Mitchell Lane, Boulder Colorado 80301.

Class Information

All Classes have breakfast available starting at 8:00 AM, with class starting around 8:30 AM. Classes will finish around 5:00 PM each day, unless your instructor tells you otherwise.

The registration fee per class is:

  • $50 for students (undergraduate or graduate)
  • $200 for non-students affiliated with a university or government agency
  • $500 for all others

Note that the cost is the same no matter how many days a particular class is held.

Computer Hardware

We assume that you will be using your own laptop computer to do the exercises associated with the training courses. Check the detailed course descriptions for any special computing requirements.

We will have several appropriately-configured laptops available for unforeseen situations. If you do not have access to a laptop suitable for the course you wish to attend, please contact the workshop coordinator before registering for your class.
