NetCDF-4.0 C/C++/Fortran Source Code and Documentation

These are the netCDF-4 C, C++, Fortran 77, and Fortran 90/95 libraries. To build netCDF-4.0 with the netCDF-4 enhancements, use the --enable-netcdf-4 option to configure. In this case you, first build zlib-1.2.3 and hdf5-1.8.1. Then build the netCDF-4.0 distribution. By default (without the --enable-netcdf-4 option) netCDF-4.0 will build the classic netCDF-3 library, without netCDF-4 enhancements. In this case neither HDF5 nor zlib are necessary. NetCDF-4.0 C/C++/Fortran Binary Distributions

These are binary distributions of the netCDF-4 C, C++, Fortran 77, and Fortran 90/95 libraries. Since the binary releases depend on matching Fortran and C++ compilers, each filename includes the name of the compiler used to generate the F77, F90, and C++ APIs. For example, binary-netcdf-4.0_gfortran_gfortran_g++.tar.gz was generated with gfortran for the F77 and F90 APIs, and g++ for the C++ API. If only one fortran compiler is listed, then only the Fortran 77 API is included in that distribution. If no C++ compiler is listed, then that distribution contains no C++ API.
