NetCDF Release Candidates

Release candidates are the penultimate preliminary release of a new version of the netcdf software.

As of version 4.2, releases contain the C libraries only. The fortran and C++ support are now separate.

NetCDF Beta Releases

Beta releases may fix minor bugs, or install on platforms that the latest stable release does not. Beta releases are considered less stable than release candidates.
