Strategy for IDD Deployment of Non-Participating Sites

Background Information on IDD Deployment--

Current Planning

• Conduct Telephone Campaign to Remaining Sites
• Gather information, e.g. Internet connection status, machine, operating system, memory, LDM version and installation, systems administrator, e-mail address, et al
• Provide update on LDM (pre-installation instructions) and IDD requirements
• Explain purpose of transitioning to IDD (Unidata/McIDAS Channel ceases on December 31, 1995)
• Work closely with Unidata support staff tracking IDD developments, software updates, etc
• Discuss WWW and point to Unidata support information
• Provide additional information in WWW as required, e.g. IDD Topology Configuration Plan, Statistics, etc
• Use Unidata Newsletter and Unidata Training Workshops as needed

Timeframe

• Start - June 5
• Goal - approximately 10 sites per month
• December 31, 1995 - Unidata/McIDAS Broadcast ends
