EOS AM-1 INSTRUMENTS

Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Relflection Radiometer (ASTER) is provided by the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). The contractors developing the major instrument subsystems are NEC, MELCO, Fujitsu, and Hitachi.
Clouds and Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) is developed by TRW under contract to LaRC. The first flight unit of CERES flies on the TRMM mission, and the second two flight units on AM-1.

Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) is developed in-house by JPL.

Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-Radiometer (MODIS) is developed by Hughes/SBRC under contract to GSFC.
Measurements of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT) is provided by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). The prime contractor developing the instrument is COMDEV.
